Kaua’i County holding Play Streets free event at Laukona Park on Aug. 12
The County of Kaua‘i will hold a Play Streets event in Laukona Park in Hanamā‘ulu on Aug. 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. All activities at Play Streets are no-cost and open to the public.
Play Streets is a community-driven initiative to promote physical activity. It refers to the temporary closing of open spaces such as parks, schools and streets to create a safe, publicly accessible space for children and their families to engage in active play.
This event provides fun outdoor activities for keiki and their ‘ohana at Laukona, which was renovated in September 2022.
Play Streets activities will include the following:
- Finger boarding
- fun obstacle course
- keiki soccer and basketball
- free play with painting, can toss, hula hoops, jumping rope, and other activities
