State Reports 196 New COVID Cases Sunday
The state Department of Health reported 196 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 237,363. One new fatality was reported.
As of the latest update from the DOH for hospitalizations, just 74 people were hospitalized as of Friday throughout the state for COVID.
A total of 13 new infections were identified Sunday on Kaua‘i.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:
- O‘ahu: 164,472
- Hawaiʻi: 25,951
- Maui: 28,066
- Kaua‘i: 11,517
- Moloka‘i: 938
- Lana‘i: 628
- Pending: 0
- Out-of-State: 5,791
As of Friday, a total of 8,342 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
According to the latest data from the DOH Sunday, at least 1,354 have died.
