Kaua‘i District Health Office Announces 17 New COVID Cases Sunday

The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 17 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, Feb. 20.

Today’s cases bring the number of active cases to 102, with four hospitalized, and 11,727 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 11,647 confirmed locally, eight probable and 72 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.

Free vaccination is offered islandwide.

In observance of Presidents Day, the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall COVID testing center will be closed Monday, Feb. 21, and reopen Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Note that the convention hall site is no longer running out of tickets for testing by 9 a.m. Tests are available for the public. Upon arrival at the test center, people receive an appointment time to return later in the day.

Appointments are given on a first-come, first-served basis, and people must wait until their ticketed time to be tested.
