Kaua‘i Sees 251 New Cases on Saturday

The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 251 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, Jan. 8.

Today’s cases bring the number of active cases to 1,070, with six hospitalized, and 5,507 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 5,431 confirmed locally, eight probable, and 68 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.

DOH case investigation and contact tracing:

Due to the high volume of cases, it may take the Department of Health case investigators a few days to contact you after you’ve received a positive test.

If you test positive for COVID-19, isolate yourself at home immediately and notify your close contacts. If you are a close contact, quarantine yourself at home and get tested.
