72 New COVID Cases Reported Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 72 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 88,440. Six new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

Kauaʻi County continues to have the highest test positivity rate at 2.5% with a seven-day case average of 14.

The state’s seven-day average is now 88 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.4%.

A total of 5,086 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,039 have died.
