Hawaiʻi Infection Average Presses Upward of 700 Daily

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 571 new COVID-19 cases Monday, bringing the statewide total to 56,670. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

The state’s two-week average is now 671 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 8.3%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 39,096
Maui: 6,690
Hawai‘i: 6,556
Kaua‘i: 1,031
Moloka‘i: 154
Lana‘i: 126
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,062

A total of 3,211 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 564 have died.

To date, a total of 1,829,974 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 62% of the population fully vaccinated at 70.3% who have received at least one shot.
