US Health Officials to Recommend Booster Shot For Most Vaccinated People
The vaccination process against coronavirus likely is not over, even for those who have been fully inoculated.
US health officials are expected to recommend that most citizens fully vaccinated against COVID-19 sign up for a booster shot approximately eight months after receiving the second Pfizer or Moderna shot. The government is also expected to recommend a booster shot for those who received the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, according to a report from the New York Times.
The Biden administration is expected to announce the recommendations within the next week.
The first booster shots are expected to become available by mid-September. Frontline healthcare workers and nursing home residents are expected to be offered the shot first.
