Hawai‘i Reports 2nd Day of 600-Plus Infections
Hawai‘i shattered the previous daily high for coronavirus infections on Thursday with 655. On Friday, the state reported a second consecutive day of 600-plus infections, as hospital resources continue to thin across the state.
The Department of Health reported 628 new cases of coronavirus statewide Friday, bringing the overall total to 45,245. Two new COVID-related deaths were also reported.
The state’s two-week average is now 445 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 6.8%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

Out-of-State: 1,798
A total of 2,814 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 540 have died.
To date, a total of 1,774,560 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 60.6% of the population fully vaccinated and 67.8% having received at least one shot.
