More than half of Hawai‘i residents statewide were administered the COVID-19 vaccine and 61% have received one of two doses of the shot, Mayor Derek SK Kawakami announced in Kaua‘i County’s bi-weekly COVID-19 update Thursday, June 10.

Once 70% of state residents are fully vaccinated, Kawakami said, the Garden Island will lift all COVID restrictions.

As of Thursday, June 10, health officials reported two new cases on Kaua‘i, bringing the total number of active cases to five. Fifty-nine people are in health-directed quarantine. Kauai’s cumulative case count is 368.
