COVID-19 Numbers Recede Noticeably For First Time in More Than Two Weeks

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 61 new cases of coronavirus Tuesday, raising the statewide total to 30,287. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

The state’s two-week average is 95 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.8%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 23,417
Maui: 3,012
Hawai‘i: 2,541
Kaua‘i: 196
Lana‘i: 111
Moloka‘i: 34
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 976

A total of 2,020 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 467 people have died.

To date, 681,928 vaccine shots have been administered statewide.
