Triple-Digit COVID Cases Statewide The Norm Over Previous Week
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 100 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday, raising the statewide total to 29,681. One new COVID-related death was reported.
Wednesday is the sixth day in the last week that Hawai‘i has registered at least 100 new cases. The state’s two-week average is 99 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.9%.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 23,063
Maui: 2,856
Hawai‘i: 2,479
Kaua‘i: 191
Lana‘i: 111
Moloka‘i: 34
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 947
A total of 1,989 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 463 people have died.
DOH reported that 623,445 doses of the vaccine had been administered across all islands as of Wednesday.
