Daily COVID Numbers Continue to Rise Statewide
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 99 new cases of coronavirus Friday, raising the statewide total to 28,608. One new COVID-related death was reported.
The state’s two-week average is 64 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.2%. Daily numbers have been on the rise on both the Big Island and Maui, the latter of which has reported new clusters as Mayor Michael Victorino called the problem “complacency” with virus protocols.

A total of 1,957 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 452 people have died.
