Resident Tests Positive for COVID-19 After Mainland Travel
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Today’s case is an adult male resident who has been hospitalized and whose source of infection is related to mainland travel.
Two active cases are in isolation and one is hospitalized. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing.
Today’s case brings the number of active cases to three, with 213 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 182 confirmed locally, one probable, and 30 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
