2 New COVID-19 Cases Identified on the Garden Island
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, Jan. 9.
Today’s cases are both adult residents whose sources of infection are travel-related. All active cases are in isolation, and one case remains hospitalized on O‘ahu. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing.
Today’s cases bring the number of active cases to 21, with 193 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 166 confirmed locally, one probable, and 26 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
